Final Draft: You Forgot Your Money

What I really like about this video is all the different a creative camera angles this group used. By far, my favorite camera angle is the one where the camera is shooting the feet. Showing many different types of shoes and stances brings a variety of people into the shot and obviously shows kids waiting in line for their lunch. The thing I really like about it also is that it makes an illusion that there are a lot of kids in this shot. Another shot I really liked was when there’s an extreme close up on Julissa’s eyes. It really shows the confusion whether or not she should pick up the money or not. It creates a suspense making everyone wonder if she’ll choose the right thing or not. The other scene I really like it when Liz appears out of nowhere.  It makes me feel that she’s not really there, like she’s Julissa’s conscience. That can be debatable but it what I feel.  Overall, this group did very well and it’s very motivating to see kids in my class that do really good videos.  It makes me want to do good videosJ

New Assignment: Favorite Video #1

Reflection.

I really admire how much effort this group put into their video. This is by far one of my favorites.  Just seeing the sequence of events they used to incorporate their “sharing” value shows how well they planned this out. One of my favorite scenes is one of the first when they video tape whats on the table including the piece of pizza. It’s a really good and clever  establishing shot. With the T.V show sounds in the background and them watching it having a good time is the best.  I really liked the music they used in the beginning as well.  It was just perfect for the scene, like a casual day. Then lastly my favorite camera angle is a point of view angle when it looks like the camera is on the floor and shows Morgan’s foot come in. It’s a really nice shot that I didn’t expect to happen.  Overall, I think this group did a great job with this video and is a good example to show future students working on a project like this.

"The Water is Wide"

The story me and Cesar planned out was about how it's so fun during the summer and how we don't want to school start. As the music progresses, we begin to see pictures of people in school. Yes it's still fun and exciting to go back to school (like the song) but summer was just the best. Without worrying about anything. Then as the music begins to sound strenuous, the images begin to show dark clouds, rain, people in school, stress. This represents how when we're already in the school year it's already getting stress, it's that point where we're half way done. Most people can take these images as the seasons fall and winter. Kind of how theres no "life " around like green leaves on trees, flowers in bloom, that sort of thing. And then towards the end it comes out of those depressing images and begins to  sound/ look "alive" again, with the sunshine. This represents spring going into summer. The music definately flows with the images being shown. The sequence of images I'm most proud of are the time length between 3 sec to 1 min 10sec. This my favorite because the effects we used on the pictures are soo perfect and they just look really cool. It shows a great transition between summer and fun to school and the begining of stress in school. I was trying to show how before school starts it's beautiful, kids are more alive, outside having fun to the point where reality hits and you have to go back to the stress of school. I really like how I picked the flowers and sunlight in the begining because it shows life. The images really go well with the special effects we added to them. My favorite picture to see is the bright pink rose iin the begining at 18 sec becuase the effects just look really cool and complex. I think about 95% of our film is basically abstract. There are some pictures where we used different effects to them but mostly everything is abstract. We didn't really have an idea of using colors and shapes to express a mood. While in the process of this video, I remembered about the solarize special effect under abstract button. It's one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure I used that a couple of times. It always looks very well when you add it to a picture. When I was absent, my partner hepled so much. I couldn't have asked for a better partner. When I was gone, he searched many good pictures and he also finished putting all the video together. We both worked on the special effects together but he made a big contribution on getting the video in order and getting some pictures. When I was here, I helped find most of the pictures and really focused on the special effects. I helped alot with the special effects. We both moved this project along very fast and finished early.

Teledramatic Art Final, Spring 2012

# 4. Early in the year, I leanred the importance of working with others, reaching out to my fellow team mates, and paying attention in class. You can see that in my first film, My Introduction, I made me film way to fast and when I'm speaking I get a little cut off at the end. My in and out points weren't set up and great as they could have been. As I see that now it make me realize how much I have learned from being in this class and how that big issue of setting in and out points then is very easy and something I over look now because its something I use all the time. On my second project, I learned how to combine different videos together, using and setting in and out points, and also using a title page. Now in this video, my title page is much longer to the point where I can actually read it and my in and out points are set better. All the videos are better than my very first video but it still looks like I still need a little more practice with the new material I learned then. The video where it shows this very well is the "Baler Interviews" video. Later in the year, I showed that I really had learned that concept well, since I showed this in other projects. One good example is from the "Over The Shoulder" Activity when I partnered up with Liz. I helped alot with putting our clips together and and setting in those in and out points. As you can see, they're much better now and they go smoothly with eachother. It's almost as if the clips are just one video. Having learned so much from this year has really made me prepared for any future projects I'll have in college. I'm pretty sure I'll later on have a project involving a video. I'm just really happy that I'll already know most of the material that I learned in this class.

#5. One of the things I learned from making videos is really using my time wisely. Even though my project wouldn't be due for 2 weeks, it flies by very quickly. If I would just set my project aside, I would forget about it and then later I would deal with th consquences of not having it doneon time. That was one of the major things I learned. I know this will help me expecially in college because I learn how to use my time wisely now I'll be okay in college. Another thing I learned was helping and taking charge when no one else wants to. There have been many situations where If I never did anything, no one would do anything. I wont say what group it was but I had this experience many times. Other than that, I learned being helpful and not letting just one person in my group do all the work really paid off. I set the example for my other team members and they would follow. Being helpful really helped my team members alot especially when they couldn't do it. One example I have from watching videos is knowing how to evaluate the right way. I've seen how when groups come up to the front and present, we (the whole class) give suggestions and things to do better for next time. I really like this way of giving people advice because your not showing the negatives from their project. Your telling them new ideas and really complimenting them on the things they did very well. This has helped me not be so judgemental in looking at the bad things. It has made me look and admire the good things as well.

#6. My experience in this class has been a really good one. I've learned many basic skills that I know will help me through my next step in life. Learning how to be a hardworker, a helping hand, a unqiue and creative person and respectful towards others has really paid off and made me a better person. I see myself working better with other people, sharing ideas and also recieving feedback alot better then I used to. I'm really happy that I got to experience this with all the wonderful people this year and made really good friends that will share this memory as well.

Special Effects Video 2

Directions:
1. Pick any video you like and drag it into the timeline without any sound. You do this by just clicking on the film icon which says "Drag film only".
2.  Click on Video Effects.
3. Under the Video Effects, click on the Stylize folder.
4. Then click on Brush Strokes and drag it on the clip on the timeline.
5. Go to Effect Controls.
6. Then click on the triangle next to Brush Strokes and open all the key frames by clicking all the clocks.
7. Then drag the #'s any where to the right or to the left until you get the effect you want on every effect.
8. Then click on the clock again to set the key frames.
9. Do this to all of them and change them to your liking
10. Then export your video to the FLV and upload to youtube so you can put it on your blog.

Directors Cut

By seeing this video I really see the hard work and effort that went into making this vdieo happen. I know and feel that we added and found new ideas and new ideas to put together our value video.  As you can see., our video shows how much we all incorportaed our ideas to create this masterpiece:) When we were as a group, we always shared off the jobs that had to be done. For example, like when eddy is filming and estefania is writing and then they switch and then we let Denise do some of the writing. Throughout this whole time, I'm giving alot of feedback and giving ideas to use in our video. At the end , the story sheets helped so much becuase it was so detailed and helped us have the vision we needed to create our video. I think this showed how well we were able to work together and exemplified our communication because we were a;ways on task and got things done even after things weren't exactly on our favor. One of the things that we left out was all the obstacles we faced for the production of this video. Also i think that this video does not show all the thought and time we took to really make this video the best it could be, obviously because of time constraints and the lack of always having a camera and also having the stress of not knowing where some of our clips were and the confusion we had with another group for another block who had our camera.

Reflection for "Jabberwocky":

For special effects, we really liked the ones givin to use under Stylize tab. All of them were very great and we liked how they created a unique and different visual to the video. They made the video look alot more different, fun, and creative. The special effects we used the best was emboss. I really liked how it makes the colors look different. Another effect we used was the alpha glow. It was the perfect we used because the picture in the scene was sunlight coming out of the clouds. The glow in the back of the picture just makes it seem as if the sun is glowing behind the picture as well. We wanted to communicate a lively, green, new begining mood. Since it is the end of the poem, and the person slayed the Jabberwocky, we wanted to make it like a happily ever after.
