Holiday Greetings

Relfection:
I really liked the positive comments that everyone gave me. It really helped alot and gave me a chance to see my video in another point of view. I feel that Liz and I worked fairly hard on this project. Even though we were very busy with ASB, we committed ourselves to get this project done. We would come on our free time and work on our video even though we weren't together. I feel we did a really good job on finding really nice backgrounds for our video and our edits. It made me confident to show it infront of the class. One thing I wish we would have done was add sounds and maybe a few pictures here and there just to give it a bit of a push. I think our script was very well done and the editing was done nice. We had a little trouble with our titles at first but we seemed to pull through towards the end. I would have liked to add maybe like a computer boarder to make the audience think we were web caming or something kind of how michael and alicia used it in their video. I found my own background picture and and edited all my parts. I also did all the scripts and did the green screens affect to my video. I gradly helped Liz with the green screen in her videos. I also helped Liz by doing her scripts for her so that she wouldn't have to worry about it when she got back from the BLT. Liz helped me alot, alot, alot, alottttt!!. She helped me with editing the our clips together. She did a great job by also giving me some tips to do on our video and some ideas. She also helped alot with doing the titles and citations. If I had another chance to complete this project, I would probably use music, a baorder, and maybe incorporate some more pictures.

Green Screen Workshop

Reflection:

The way a green screen works is by putting your project in premiere pro or affects affect (if a video) and use the keylight/Keying tool to incorporate a new background around a fixture. Some important considerations about a green screen is to know that there should be any wrinkles in the green screen in back of you. It will make the process of taking off the green screen background even harder. Some pronlems that can happen when dealing with a green screen is when the person is wearing black or a really dark shirt. When already implementing the background, you shirt makes you look tranparent and you can see the green screen picture infront of you. I think the easiest program to use is After Affects because it gets you by very quick once you get the hang of it.

5 Things I learned: Video #2

There are thing sI really liked about this video. One thing is that I really loved how they made the titles for the students interview. It looked very proffesional and made the scene look very nice. I want to use it for next video to make our video look proffesional and clean. The second thing that I liked were the transitions from scene to scene. It made the video look very different and change it up a little bit. I want to use this in my next video to give it more of a different setting and make it more interesting. It also looks very proffesional. The third thing I really want to use in my next video is the voice over. It makes the sound quality sound so neat, clear and proffesional. I really like it and I want to learn how to do it so that I can show others too. The forth thing I really enjoyed watching was the scenes they took of different groups of people at lunch. It brought the audience to see the everyday life of a student

5 Things I learned: Video #1

In this video, I really acknowledge how they used different real-life settings at their house. It really brought a real image and situation to me. This is one thing I would definatley use later in other videos because it brings a different environment from school to home. Another thing I really admired was the music. They put the videos in the right moments to prove their point. The sounds made the video humorous when it was supposed to be and then the different selection of sound made it serious. This is another feature I want to use next time becuase it adds a new feel to the video and gives you an idea to how to react at certain points. I also love how they used students to have their point of view about cyberbulling. It completely brought the message across and gave the young audience a chance to relate to what they were saying. I want to use this next time because it adds a different feature and image then seeing a staff member participating with their thoughts. The next thing I want to use for next time is how they used really used their school resources to prove their point and bring a serious feel to serious parts of the video. The last thing I really want to implement in my video for next time are the camera angles you used. They also brought different feels to the video when it's feels shifted from humorous to serious.

Sexting Today: Final Draft

Reflection:
I'm very proud of how we used some acting clips in our video. Instead of just giving a voice over or just a title screen, we gave them a visual of real life events that can happen. I was also very proud that we used music in our video. It gives it more of an edge and hook to catch the viewers attention. I think it's always good to use some music in videos. Some comments I found very useful were the ones from Kayla and Alicia's. Kayla added alot of good feedback we got on Ms. Motts interview and how it had a really good camera angle on her. Alicia gave us some other good feedback on how it would be better if we turned up the volume. That came handy because we realized that it was necessary to raise it up a notch. Some changes we made were changing the sequence of scenes and switching them in a better order, raising the volume, and cutting out the scene with denise lying on the ground. These changes made our video alot better then how it was because we got rid of all the air holes our video had. Some other changes I would make to my video would be our volume. When we were editing the volume our video sound was still low so it bearly changed anything. If I would have known better, I would have told the speaker of our video to speak louder so that we can hear her. I realized throughout this process, that it's very time consuming. You really need to be dedicated to a project like this because if you not, who will? I also learned that it's very important that you keep on track with you tasks and have your group be on task. It's really hard if one of them isn't. I really do think we did a good job on this project and I'm very proud of our work and effort.

Group 3 Sexting Today Rough Draft

Relfection:

I found alot of suggestions from all the people who commented our video to be very helpful. One suggestion that I found to be one of the ones that kept opping up was the volume. I agree with having the volume a little more higher and more clear. I feel like we should just adjust the volumes so that they can beat the same volume. I also thought we should also end the concluding scene with more of a pull and end it smoothly instead of having a random picture. The last suggestion I thought was very important was the having maybe some picture being shown with the interviews so everyone can see more of a variety of things instead of just seeing the person speak.

Titles Template

This is an example of what a video with a title together looks like. This title can be used to give the viewer information of what is going on. It's kind of like the scores on the bottom on the screen when football is on the t.v for example.

Lifting and Extracting

A simple cut in the timeline means when you just cut out a section or clip of a video. When you cut, the other clips in the timeline will stay right where they are. A ripple edit is when you want to delete something and you want all the clips to replace where you just did your cut. You do this by clicking on the right side of the mouse and . When you ripple delete, the other clips to the right of the deleted clip shift in the spot where the ripple deleted clip was preformed. Lifting and extracting are two ways to cut a clip at one time. To do this, you go on premire pro and set you in & out points where ever you want to cut the video. Then you either click the extract or lift button on the program panel.Lifting is like leaving a gap in the middle and not moving the other videos from the right to the left, while extracting is like cuting the clip out and moving the clips on the right into the gap , in terms of what happens to the other clips in the timeline. This is an example of an extract edit. I decided to extract the two clips where I did because it cuts out the boring parts in the video.

Insert

This is an example of an insert edit. An insert edit places a clip in
the video and when that clip ends, the clip ends where the video left off. To do this, you place a clip any where you would like in the video and press the ctrl button while you do this. I decided to place the 2nd clip where I did because it made you see the big jump and see her expression after it.

The difference between an overlay and an insert is that when you use an overlay when you want to replace a certain part of the video and you use insert you use it when you just want to add a clip in without replacing any of the main video. You would use an overlay when you want to cut something out of themain video, while you'd use an insert edit when you just want to add something without replacing anything. In this case the overlay edit works better because there is alot of dead time in the video and you can use the overlay to shorten it and give it a better feel to the audience.

Overlay

This is an example of an overlay edit. An overlay places a clip in a certain point in a video while the video is continuing. To do this, you place the clip wherever you want it to be in the video. While the 2nd clip is playing, the main video is still continuing until the 2nd clip is done. I decided to overlay the 2nd clip where I did because it keeps the audience thinking what happened.

Baler Interviews

Reflection:

Throughout this video editing process, I have learned more about the technical process and how you have to use your focus and atentive skills in order to have a successful project. I really think I'm better at starting the set-points in the perfect spot. I also think I got better at making a title in the begining of the video. I did a really good job helping my partner when she needed help and when it was her turn to do the set-points, I told her when to start and end the video. I'm really happy that I followed the directions and started each video at the perfect time. One thing I should have done was starting one of the videos a little later because theres a 3 second pause when it starts and it just looks a little off. I also think I could have made the font size of the title where it syays who's it by a little smaller. If I could do this project over again, I would add more videos so that the audience can see the opinion of more people. On my next project, I need to remember that I have less time to work in class so I'll need to work even more sufficiently with my partner and be on track. Next time, I would like to learn and go over how to export again and how to open and make a new project like we did in the begining of this one.
One way I helped out my partner was when she didn't know how to changed the font size in the title box, so I showed her how to changed and adjust it. My partner was very helpful. She helped me when I needed my mind refreshed on how to start the video and when to end it. She also helped me how the export the video. On this project, I gained a better idea about how to import and export videos and which file to choose when I'm loading them onto Youtube. What helped me figure this out was to ask my teacher, Dr. Achterman, and have him guide me through the right direction. It also really helped how he went back and made me do it so that I would know how to for the future. One challenged I faced was when I couldn't drag my video on to the box to edit it. My partner finally helped and we both got through it. We overcame this because we had never had this happen to us and our computer was freaazing a little bit on us. And finally, I really liked how we got to do this all by ourselves. It made me really feel like a movie editor.:)

My Introduction

Reflection:

In my video, it shows the hardworking skills that I implented in my work. By listening and following directions, I was able to edit my video smoothly and with no struggle. I really liked how I started and ended my video perfectly. I also really liked how the title cover came out. It makes the video more interesting. Next time, I woul;d like to make my video longer with more fun facts or information so that the audience will be entertained. One challenge that I came across on was when I tried to put my video on my blog but it wasn't showing up. My partner helped me alot by trying to upload my video diffrently on youtube. I have to say, I couldn't have done it without my partner.
