Reflections on Rough Drafted

My group and I haven't been able to upload our video to our blog because we're experiencing technical difficulties with our computer. Last class when we had our substitute teacher tells us what we had to work on, we couldn't find our cameras that had our video on it. We later found out that it was checked out and the people who checked them out hadn't returned it. Even though we didn't edit our video, we still worked on our directors cut and finished some finishing touches with our rule of thirds video.Although you cannot see our video, I can still answer the questions on the rough draft reflection. The values that we are presenting in our video is giving a helping hand. I really think my group has captured alot of great footage with amazaing camera angles. I think we really establish different camera angles such as over-the-shoulder, two-shots, and close up shots that makes the video such a unique one. My group has really conquered what it is to really work together and put everyones input and what they think. I really think we did well on constructing a really good story line and putting everyones new ideas in this project without hurting anyones feelings. All we have left to do is to capture our video onto the computer and edit the video. We also want to incorporate music in our video just to give it more of a twist to it. Of feedback, I really want to see if our scenes are well done with good camera angles and also if the type of music makes sense during each scenes. I'm also wondering if the msuic we use when the audience gets a first glimpse on estefania's entrance is the right type of music being used. Also if the music being used when denise is thrown to the ground is appropiate to set the cad mood we're hoping to accomplish. What we faced during this whole process of filming and trying to get our video in our computer was the hardest task that we've had to face. Luckily we've all work hard with eachother and faced all these technical difficulties together in order to have a successful and entertaining video. I'm very impressed with my groups dedication to get everything done and film everything we needed. I'm very happy I got put in this group because I really feel the dedication and team-work environment with them that makes everything so much easier to work with. Having dealt with alot of computer/camera problems, we've all tried to brainstorm different ways to make our video work or even do other things we need to get done in order to use are time wisely.

Over The Sholder Acitvity

In my group, we first read the scripts to see what and how we would act it out. When we finally read the script, we then talked and took notes on what facial expression and body language we would do when we act the script out. I realized you really have to pay attention with the lines and what actions are supposed to be made. YOu need to read the script carefully and take foot-notes along the side of the script so you can remember. Our group definately followed the rule of thirds becuase during the dialouge, its right in the middle box where the grid would be. When the camera is focused on liz over the sholder of myself, Liz is prefectly on the right corner of the middle box if the grid were there. When the camera is focused on me over the solder of Liz, I perfectly at the left side corner of the box if the grid were there also. The impression that the over-the-sholder camera shot gives the audience the knowledge of where the other character that is not the focus of the shot is. This works by taking a shot of the persons back/half of their head (getting a shot of [part of their ear) but also looking toward the person speaking right infront of him/her. The dialouge at the end looks realtistic because our attitudes and the way we were speaking really make the scene look like it's real. In our video, it has actually a very funny tone to it. Our acting makes people laugh a little becuase some could really relate to it. People would atcually act like this especially it their expecting something from that person. There was still a bit of anticipation with the help of our script but with me and Liz's attitude brought a different/ funny mood. We accomplished setting this right tone and mood by practicing before and thinking how we would react to this script if it really happened. We basically agreed this is how we would act in real life so we decided to incorporate it:). I noticed how while we were filming this activity, we acutally hid our scripts with the person opposite to us when the person opposite to us wasn't seen on camera. It's very funny how it wasn't captured by the camera. Some ideas I had in mind for potentially using over-the-shoulder was maybe if someone makes a soap opera/suspensful video, this would be a great camera angle to use to set a great rising action bewteen two characters.

Holiday Greetings

Relfection:
I really liked the positive comments that everyone gave me. It really helped alot and gave me a chance to see my video in another point of view. I feel that Liz and I worked fairly hard on this project. Even though we were very busy with ASB, we committed ourselves to get this project done. We would come on our free time and work on our video even though we weren't together. I feel we did a really good job on finding really nice backgrounds for our video and our edits. It made me confident to show it infront of the class. One thing I wish we would have done was add sounds and maybe a few pictures here and there just to give it a bit of a push. I think our script was very well done and the editing was done nice. We had a little trouble with our titles at first but we seemed to pull through towards the end. I would have liked to add maybe like a computer boarder to make the audience think we were web caming or something kind of how michael and alicia used it in their video. I found my own background picture and and edited all my parts. I also did all the scripts and did the green screens affect to my video. I gradly helped Liz with the green screen in her videos. I also helped Liz by doing her scripts for her so that she wouldn't have to worry about it when she got back from the BLT. Liz helped me alot, alot, alot, alottttt!!. She helped me with editing the our clips together. She did a great job by also giving me some tips to do on our video and some ideas. She also helped alot with doing the titles and citations. If I had another chance to complete this project, I would probably use music, a baorder, and maybe incorporate some more pictures.
